Developing a data analysis and management application

Like many companies in the transportation industry, Rotala deals with a vast amount of data (millions of records) daily. This data includes ticketing information, driver details and bus schedules. They needed a way to bring all of these data sources into a single platform to dynamically run reports and make data-driven decisions.

Unifying millions of records of data from different systems

The system pulls in millions of data records from multiple sources, such as ticket data, bus schedules, and driver data from the DVLA.

After sanitising the data, we were able to combine the data from the different sources to create a range of reports, such as analysing lost mileage, tracking cancelled tickets, generating operational reports, the most up-to-date bus driver information from the DVLA integration and more.

By unifying their data and creating a system for instant self-run reports for directors and management to gain new insights on the business operations. This has enabled them to make informed, data-driven business decisions for forecasting data and help drive the company forward.

As the data management application automatically collects and processes millions of records of data, and the system having the standard reports all set up, it removes the need for the process to be done manually, saving the company over £100,000 per year on operating costs.
