The significance of online marketing

byIsev Team Isev Team

Did you know… 40 per cent of UK businesses have no visitors to their website at all through pay per click (PPC) or search engine optimisation (SEO).

SEO should be an integral aspect of any company that seeks to maximise a return on investment for their online marketing activities. Understanding SEO and applying this will enable your website to appear as high in search results as possible.

This should be the foundation of all online marketing campaigns, without SEO you are not maximising your websites potential – therefore you will be missing out on the vast majority of clicks from search engines, and therefore missing out on potential customers.

Pay Per Click involves positioning your organisation in the Search Engine Results Page (SERP) for a selection of key words that your potential customers use, to search for the products and services you offer. You then pay for each of these visitors as they come through to your website. The advantage of PPC is that as soon as the account has been setup with the major search engines, which usually takes around 5 – 7 working days, traffic is immediately driven to your desired website from a fixed monthly budget of your choice. PPC provides one of the most measureable ways of driving ROI “immediately” through your website.

The survey, carried out by a web design company, out of 10,000 UK companies only 9 per cent of them actively used PPC as part of their online marketing strategy – to get their name, website address and their marketing message in front of potential customers searching for their products.

To increase traffic coming to your website, an online marketing strategy is essential to improve your website’s visibility to prospective customers. This includes SEO, PPC, link building affiliate marketing, social media marketing and reputation management. These elements of online marketing work together to make sure your website has utmost reach to potential customers. Using your website as an effective marketing tool will increase sales for your business, and therefore cannot be overlooked.
