Painless payment collection
Customers are lovely people in the main, they like us and we like them. But does your heart sink when you think about yet another few days of invoice chasing by email or phone and even letters doing the duties of payment collection? Have you often wished for painless collection process? Well we have discovered a big light at the end of the tunnel… follow me.
Light at the end of the tunnel
The big light at the end of the tunnel is the most wonderful app call ‘Go Cardless’ and works around the system of Direct Debit. In fact all you need to start is a UK bank account. It is not complicated and there are no hidden fees. You are only charged a % per transaction and even this is capped. Their security systems and encryptions are stringent and robust so you can rest easy about security.

So what next?
You have signed up and logged in, all you need to do is send each of your customers an authorisation link to start the collection process. As soon as each of your customers has agreed to the authorisation via the Go Cardless link you can set up a payment plan or regular monthly payment amount or one off payments. You can even vary the amount should this become necessary. (Can you remember what happened last time there was a VAT change or you increased your pricing … hmm painful). You can agree a set date each month that suits both you and your customer and then you both sit back and wait for the process to start. Here we go, Payment created, Payment submitted to bank, Payment leaves customer’s bank, Payment reaches your bank minus the % transaction fee.
So easy!

You can even track these as they move through the Go Cardless system from start to finish and upon completion of each set of payments received on a set date you will receive a statement. It is bliss. and should there be a customer ‘blip’ (we live in the real world – it does happen) you will receive an instant notification for a failed or cancelled payment. and If you need to take payments inside and outside the UK in the Single Euro Payments Area – then no problem it can all be done from the same system.
Conclusion
I just know that this is going to make your credit control life so much easier and give you much more time to concentrate on giving your customers even greater service than they are already getting.
